"Um, Keith?" Lance questioned softly, moving his hand in front of his friend's face as Keith kept looking downward to Lance's midsection. "Buddy?"
"Did you lose weight?" Keith drawled out, Lance finally realizing that Keith wasn't just staring down at his shirt, but glaring. As if Lance's lack of body mass offended him.
And to be honest, Lance barely noticed these days. Yes, he knows that whenever he would look in the mirror before or after a shower, he could tell how much smaller he's gotten. How much thinner his body has become due to all the meals he has missed, all the nightmares he would have. The ones he would force himself awake for, rushing to the small bathroom connected to his room and retch his last meal right down the toilet.
But he couldn't let Keith know that.

As he struggles to figure out where he fits in the new formation of the team, the rest of Voltron is racing against the clock to figure out where Lotor will strike next- and their only clue is hidden somewhere in Lance's lost memories. Lance will have to find a way to remember what he's missing- or come to terms with what he's forgotten.

“Guys… I-” Keith choked off abruptly. Everyone was present and accounted for, standing together. They looked like they belonged together, standing there in their shiny white Paladin armor.
And they were all staring at him with varying degrees of anger, hostility, and - worst of all - disappointment.
It felt like his dad waving good bye, saying ‘see you soon, son,’ but never coming back. It felt like every time he wasn’t a ‘good fit’ with a foster family. It felt like getting kicked out of the Garrison.
Set during season 4 episode 1 when the teams rips into Keith. I always thought he looked like he was going to cry, so in this, he does.

Keith closes his eyes as Lance continues to card gentle fingers through his hair. It’s not a mullet, anymore — it’s too long for that. Keith hasn’t cut it since they came to space. The long braid it’s usually in won’t stop Lance’s teasing, though — he’d call Keith ‘Mullet’ if the man was bald. You don’t get to bury that hairstyle in the past.
“Just double checking something,” Keith says carefully. “D’you know Olkarion marriage certificates are recognised on almost every single known planet in the universe?”

Keith has it made. He comes home from work every day to Lance’s beaming smile and gentle teasing about the grease on his clothes. He’s got everything he’s ever wanted. He’s happy. So fucking happy.
Except that things have been a little different, recently. For the past few weeks, he’s been coming home to his usual smile and kiss, but the idle chattering or excited rambles — Keith feels as if they’ve become a rarity. Their home used to be filled with the sound of Lance’s voice, silent only when he’s reading or focused intently on something, eyes narrowed and tongue peeking out of his mouth.
Lance still looks happy. He still curls up with Keith on the couch after dinner, socked feet in Keith’s lap and three million blankets over his shoulders. He still sends Keith a myriad of heart emojis on his lunch break. Their sex life has not suffered.
But the lectures. The constant infodumps of whatever passing thing has grabbed Lance’s attention. They’re gone. And Keith’s devastated about it.
He misses Lance’s voice.
