11/23/2025- Updating this fic after a long hiatus! Every chapter will be updated for flow, style, errors, and general readability. Some chapters will have changed content for story consistency. Some chapters in the 30s will be fully rewritten, or they will be reused for a more appropriate place in the timeline. Any chapters with updates will have an A/N listing the nature of the changes and the date!
Tavryn had a bleeding heart, something feral just beneath the surface, and allies aplenty. Perhaps protection from a vampire lord was a bit much to ask of a stranger, but surely a lover would have a vested interest. And the groundwork was already set.
All he needed was to get the man to fall for him. Easy enough.
Follows Astarion getting to know my Tav (Tavryn), throughout the events of the game (with some alterations). Learning how similar they are, that healing is harder than it looks, and finding themselves in the face of disaster.

Astarion truly was only on the hunt for some blood. Some animal that would satisfy his hunger for the night. And he found one. Of course he did. These forests were full of creatures he could catch and drain of their blood. Some were tastier than others, but definitely better than some putrid rat.
So, when Astarion heard wailing and heaving and cursing echoing through the forest, he didn’t assume it was anyone he recently met. And someone or something must be having a terrible night.

You stay quiet and wipe the sweat off your brow and upper lip. There was a stream nearby… but the thought of being alone out here at night terrified you. Sleeping out in the open with another vampire mere feet away was bad enough.

Kymeros didn't think he was ever going to be implanted with a mind flayer parasite. Now he has to face his own problems as he tries to get the damn thing out of his head. All while a certain vampire creeps closer and closer into his heart, which he offers up so willingly.
Astarion feels like a mirror of his own problems. Even if the vampire can't see it himself, Kymeros sees him. Pale skin and silver hair, a dangerous smile and even more dangerous blade. Those fangs fascinate him though, in a dark yet romantic way.
Maybe it isn't so bad to bleed out through the neck.
