Summary
Hermes is getting his first tattoo. He has it all planned out, a golden wing behind his ear, and is excited and anxious for the experience. What he didn’t expect was to become instantly enamored by the ink covered, near silent, tattoo artist at the parlor. What had initially been a plan to get only one tattoo turned into getting some piercings as well. Then coming back for a second. Maybe a third. Soon Hermes is sitting in Charon’s chair for hours long sessions to cover his back and his arms with sleeves of birds and flowers.
Surely not just to see the tattoo artist, of course. Who would do such a thing just to indulge a silly little crush?

Summary
“Ah, how rude of me! I haven’t even introduced myself yet.” The man responds, a painful, high-pitched whine overlaid in the background of his voice. He looks up at Charon with sharp eyes filled with impish delight. “Though, the thing is, my real name is far too complex for a human to comprehend. Something about it drives people to insanity or something like that. Still not sure why. But I don’t really want that to happen to you, so you can just call me ‘Hermes.’”
Too complex for a human to comprehend. Human. A direct confirmation that whoever - whatever - is standing in front of Charon is not human. Not that it was ever in doubt, but the affirmation strikes at a fear somewhere deep inside him. His next question comes from gritted teeth.
“What are you?”
The grin that splits Hermes’ face is feral. “That’s a tough one to answer, Father. I’ve been called a lot of things in my time.”

Summary
His second dream was not like the first. All of it becoming more and more like how Hermes described the phenomenon.
A mash of colors and experience.
Of visual and sound.
He thinks he must have seen Hypnos and Thanatos in this dream, maybe his mother too. Shapes of what they might look like. Incomprehensible figures.
And there was something glowing among the mess. Something so familiar, drawing Charon to it, calling for him in that siren-like voice.
But before he could reach and touch it, the glow dissipated, and he would wake to the underworld around him.
(Charon dreams continuously for the first time in a long time. Hermes seems to make an appearance in a number of them.)
