Summary
Soap wakes up next to Ghost in the mornings, just to get called by a name that isn’t his. Ghost wakes next to Soap and sees another Sergeant that he’s going to fail.
Roach is a specter haunting both of them, keeping them from moving on and finding peace in each other. Then news comes down that Roach might not be as dead as everyone thought and Soap comes face to face with the man whose shadow he’s never been able to get out of.
A fic inspired by the sheer amount of angst that can be found in all of Zach Bryan’s songs.

It didn't bother Johnny much, they all had nightmares of course, so this was nothing new. He relished the fact that he was the only one allowed to help Simon through these things immediately. Did it make him drink two more cups of coffee a day? Also yes.
But you had to compromise on the things you loved. Fortunately for him, Simon was one of those things.
