after being held captive for months by the league of villains, you manage to escape and make it to UA high school. harboring secrets and trauma, you go through classes with the goal to live a normal life. but the villains want you back, as time goes on secrets are revealed, you find out things about your family you never would have known, and you make friends along the way. well... maybe some are more than friends.
DISCLAIMER: People have said that this story has very similar elements to 'Opposites' by lancalianaimes. Because both of these stories are based in the same universe, with the same love interest, there are bound to be similarities. I would never intentionally copy someone else's work.

Changed her nappies, fed her, clothed her, rocked her for hours upon hours upon hours while she fought sleep with everything she had. Countless nights she’d sit there and scream until she couldn’t anymore, just crying and hiccupping. Simon had cried once too.
When she’d gotten older, he took her out on walks, or car rides, letting the rumble of the engine soothe her to sleep.
He’d brushed her hair, kissed her forehead and boo-boos, told her how proud he was. Simon Riley had been a good father.
Then Roba happened. Then Sparks and Washington had killed his entire family, and he’d felt terrible, terrible relief when he didn’t see Colette among the bodies, then fear, because if she wasn’t here, where was she?
Bumming a smoke off a highschooler she knew, as it turns out. His eight year old wanting to pick up his filthy fucking habit had saved her. Long before Simon had become Ghost, he’d already infected her.
He remembers the numbness as she threw herself into his arms, hiccupping and sobbing.
