Summary

Clarke and Bellamy have met only once before, under harrowing circumstances 10 years earlier, and it left both of them with unpleasant memories of the other. But now they’ll have to work together if they’re going to catch a murderer.

It's only when a spear pierces Jasper's chest that Clarke starts to think that maybe there's another reason why people don't find their soulmate on the Ark.
Earth is nothing like what she expected. River monsters, acid fog, a coalition of Grounders, Mountain Men. But she also never expected a soulmate like Bellamy Blake.

Bellamy snorts and sits on the wide arm of the Adirondack chair next to her, bumping her arm with his hip and making her pencil skirt across the almost finished sketch. Ruining it.
Clarke swears again under her breath.
“Whoops.” He whistles, grinning like a fool.
She slams her sketchbook closed and stands. “Take the damn chair if you’re really dying to do nothing right now, Blake. Some of us are trying to be productive.”
“I just think you need to give someone else a chance on the throne, that’s all.”

Clarke and Bellamy attend the same summer camp for the arts as teens. She's pretty sure he hates her as much as she hates him. That doesn't stop her from wanting to kiss him. He's very kissable and no one's ever bothered to kiss her before.
A kiss turns into something more, only for the whole thing to go up in flames.
