Law's wide eyes remain glued to his face, blinking rapidly. "Straw Hat-ya…?"
No, it can't be. Luffy died several days ago. Bepo and the gang were just at his funeral.
Luffy stares at him, straightening mid-float even though his feet still don't touch the ground. Law now notices that his body is quite translucent, like he's only a projection.
"Straw Hat-ya? Who's that?"
Or: Luffy dies and Law gains an unexpected travel companion as a result.

The warmth blooms between her ribs. She names it magic, despite knowing the ember-sting of arcana these days.
She sees Caleb’s throat work as he swallows. He whispers, “that makes two of us, Nott the Brave.”
