Summary
The scene is 1920s Lucheng and the stage is set. Aspiring actress Xiao Lanhua lands her first leading role in the silent film production of Romeo and Juliet opposite silver screen heart-throb Changheng. While Xiao Lanhua hopes their leading roles can bring her closer to Changheng, whom she has admired from afar for years, she instead strikes up a fast friendship with Daqiang, a mysterious man she encounters at the Blue Moon Speakeasy. Of course, nothing is quite as it seems: Daqiang is soon revealed to be the ruthless new head of the Cangyan Syndicate.
Dongfang Qingcang has returned from exile to reestablish the Cangyan Syndicate's supremacy in Lucheng's underworld - and he's out for blood, desperate to unravel the circumstances of his father's death five years ago and clear his name. In the meantime, Xiao Lanhua has unwittingly begun to untangle the sudden and tragic death of renowned stage performer Lady Chidi. As she and Dongfang Qingcang grow closer, the threads of the case all seem to lead to him as the culprit.
With her real life beginning to mirror the tragic script, will Xiao Lanhua escape her encroaching fate unscathed? Or is she, like Juliet, simply fortune's fool?

The Age of Kings is dead, dear reader, and I helped kill it. Having supported Swain’s coup against Emperor Darkwill’s regime, we ushered in a new era where all men are equal. A vision which needs its fair share of blood. During the revolution, I hunted down LeBlanc and her Black Rose as Swain’s chief counterspy, uprooting the ancient cabal which had ruled Noxus from the shadows for centuries. How? Let’s just say apples don’t fall far from the tree. I secured victory, but my hands were forever stained, even for Noxian standards. I was brandished a traitor, and suffered the same fate as the traitors I hunted.
However, after seven years of scheming, LeBlanc and the Black Rose returned from hell. Wordlessly, Evy looks back over at Jonathan and Ardeth.
“If you think about it, I'm doing them a favour. Jewellery never looks quite right on dead people,” Jonathan is saying, flicking his wrist in comic disdain. A drop of whisky lurches forcefully from his glass and lands on Ardeth’s thigh, and Jonathan leans forward to pat it dry with his jacket sleeve. “Terribly sorry, old boy. I get a bit animated after a finger or two of the good stuff.”
Ardeth’s eyes are very, very wide indeed.
“Jesus, you’re right,” says Rick.
After 20 years of being subjected to more yearning than any sister should ever have to witness, Evy decides that enough's enough.

Summary
Jedi Ben Solo, handsome hero of the New Republic, accompanies his uncle Luke on a memorial trip to Tatooine. As Luke mourns his family, Ben meets local peacekeeper Major Armitage Hux. Hux is unimpressed by his reputation, and proceeds to give him a scathing lesson in galactic politics before taking him on a suicide mission.
Ben falls hard.
Later, spending the night apart, both hear a holotransmission from the floor of the New Republic Senate that reveals Ben's grandfather as the infamous Darth Vader. Ben does not take this well, and falls hard again.
