For a few blessed seconds, he actually managed to keep his mouth shut. Jason watched him anyway. Three seconds. Four. Five. By five, Roy's shoulders had started to twitch.
“Say it.”
Roy looked up, all innocence. “Say what?”
“Whatever you're trying so fucking hard not to say.”
“I don't know what you're talking about.”
“You look like you're about to rupture something.”
“That is rich coming from—”
“Harper.”
Roy slapped a hand over his mouth before the rest could escape. Jason stared at him; Roy stared back, eyes already watering with the effort of containing himself.

“He’s off duty,” Carla says.
Wayne turns toward her. “There’s a woman who’ll spend the weekend in a cell because an officer couldn’t be bothered to finish a form.”
“And Frank didn’t put her there.”
“Right now I want her out. Who put her there is Monday’s problem. I’m looking forward to Monday.”
“You could have tried calling, texting or doing anything except accosting him in bars.”
“I did. Twice. He didn’t answer.”
“I was busy,” Castle says, looking at his screen.
“You answered Bell yesterday with your mouth full.”
Danny wishes, violently, that he could hear what Ramirez mutters into his glass.
Carla looks at Castle. “Does your ex-husband usually speak to you like this?”
Danny inhales beer. It goes into the wrong part of his body and stays there while he tries to cough without making a sound.
