    Roy comes back from the Titans down an arm, and nothing the techs tried would take. The witches' solution took just fine. So he doesn't have an arm or a prosthetic but another weirder third thing.

    Frank's just happy to have most of Roy back and healthy. Roy's grateful to be home, but he has regrets. So many regrets.

    Steve's voice comes back into focus when he shoves Clint off balance the way only a super soldier can. (He'd know.) "Did you just kill someone?"

    Clint lifts an eyebrow and looks at Steve as if he's the slowest, saddest dog in canine good citizen class. "Nah. Pigeon target practice."

    "And you're here because you 'like' it," Steve says in a voice thick with disbelief. He starts to move towards the edge of the roof to see the results himself only for Clint to yank him back with all of his strength. "The hell, Barton?"

    "These little talks always comes back to Barton eventually." Clint shakes his head and turns his back on Steve. "It's all Clint until I tranq a guy."

    This was a wild statement in itself, but of all the possible statements to follow this up, Brett could not have expected, “don’t lick it” to be one of them.

    Daredevil promised Peter he wouldn’t lick the bite, he was just going to smell it.

    “Fine. Don’t lick it, though, for real. I think it’s rabies.”

    There was a thoughtful pause over in that corner of insanity, followed abruptly by a betrayed squawk and then a full volume cry for “WADE.”

Except for, uh, medical bills, the mob, and being on the run all the time. That part isn't all that awesome.

    (A supervillain AU where Clint shoots arrows at people and gets beat up a lot. So, not really that much of an AU.)

    This is Clint Barton, alias Hawkeye: American male, heading into middle age. Short, sandy hair; unfortunate nose, broken at least twice; arms and shoulders corded with muscle. Hearing aids to correct for a severe impairment from an arrow-related accident a few years back. Clint would prefer not to discuss how you can get a hearing impairment from an arrow. He's got about as many scars as you would expect from a man in his particular line of work and with his particular attitude about workplace safety. His professional outfit is sleeveless, form-fitting, and incredibly purple.
