Summary
Jean closed her eyes with regret before wrapping her arms around her sister, who quietly mourned the man who had saved Captain Kaeya's life. This wasn't Barbara's first time witnessing death, but it didn't make things easier.
Jean made to call for the surrounding Favonius Knights to disperse the onlooking crowd, before a blue glow shone outward from where the Fatuus's body was.
To everyone's surprise, the man suddenly sat straight up with a gasp, the damage done to his body having miraculously disappeared - almost as if he hadn't just been mauled minutes earlier.
His hand clutched his beaked helmet, and as he looked blankly into the air, Jean could make out an almost blank and disappointed tone when the corpse murmured to himself.
"...huh. So she's really gone."
A Guardian takes the shot. Fresh off the Witness guillotine, his ship crashes, with his Ghost nowhere in sight.
He doesn't manage, until he does.

Why? Who knows. Maybe the Traveler messed with the gate. Maybe he accidentally pressed something he wasn’t supposed to.
Doesn’t matter now.
All that matters is helping these light touched kids with their problems.
And maybe get some new exotics along the way. We’ll see.

Her brilliant plan was as follows:
1. Hide right up against the wall next to the door out of the Abyss so the Pale Bellend didn’t see her immediately.
2. When he walked through the door, waste no time in hitting him in the back of the head, or the back of whatever she could reach with her club to stun him and give her more time to enact step 3.
3. Run like hell, and pray that getting unexpectedly whacked in the back of the head stunned him long enough for her to make a clean getaway, since he would presumably be coming down here alone.
4. Make good use of her intangibility to escape and haul ass to the Resting Grounds as fast as possible, putting all her ninja skills to good use in avoiding detection from basically everyone, since she could trust basically no one to not rat her out if the king put a bounty on her head or some shit like that.
She operated under the KISS method of planning. It was an acronym that stood for ‘Keep It Simple, Stupid.’
But then again, no plan survived contact with the enemy.
This was going to suck, wasn't it?

Summary
Zuko beheld an enormous stone door, carved with a symbol that resembled a tree, or perhaps a crown. It was weathered with age, and near the bottom of the door, there was great rent in the stone, creating a hole just big enough for someone of his size to squeeze through. It was odd though, that the hole looked like it was made by someone smashing the stone in from the other side…almost like something broke through from the other side and escaped.
