Once he lays eyes on the owner of the thick arms and husky voice, Bucky’s cock shakes off the last of its disinterest to say hi. Dark cinemas and grey mornings and the knobs of someone’s spine under his fingers. Snapshots from a life he never lived, not this confused creature who clawed his way out of the charred remains of Sergeant James Barnes and drowned the last of the Winter Soldier in the Potomac.
They come and they go, the ghosts. Bucky grows familiar with them without ever truly knowing them.
