Summary
"Mother also says you're not friends anymore. Why?"
When Alicent lowered her gaze to Joffrey, she read no reproach in the little boy's eyes, merely innocent curiosity. Why weren't they friends anymore? There had been so much pain, so many elements beyond her control that had led to this situation that Alicent had never clearly dared ask herself the question, as if the answer couldn't possibly be simple anyway. And yet the words came to her naturally, like a breath too long held in her lungs.
"Because we hurt each other, mutually."
"Why?"
"Because it was so decided."
"I don't understand," muttered the child.
"I don't understand either," was all Alicent could reply.
It had been four years since Driftmark, since Aemond's lost eye and Rhaenyra's blood. Four years to pray and forget.
Four years after Driftmark, when Alicent thought she had finally forgotten, the maester announced that little Jaehaerys' lungs were sick and that only Dragonstone's sea air could cure him. And, once again, Alicent was forced to remember, to confront a past that was far too heavy, an echo of all she had lost.

When Kushana finally got to her feet, she swore never to cry again, to become strong, so strong that the only red she would see would be the blood of her enemies and not the mocking red of a poisoned cup or a little doll's dress.

Summary
"Poor Creon! My nails are broken, my fingers are bleeding, my arms are covered with the welts left by the paws of your guards - , but I am a queen."
Claudine comes out of her reverie and in front of her there is Antigone. Sitting at an isolated table, her back straight, motionless, her lips tight in a thin smile, she looks at her with her distant and inaccessible eyes. Eyes that Claudine knows only too well.
Violet eyes, so different and strangely so close to the obsidian pupils of Antigone.
"Antigone by Jean Anouilh. It is an interesting play. How did you like my interpretation?"
"Maya."
"Hello Claudine."It has been three years since Claudine returned to France after finishing Seisho. Three years far from Japan and her friends, in the race of Paris and the Théâtre de la Flamme. In the current stage, Claudine plays Antigone and the young princess disturbs her, without her being able to understand why. Until the day when Maya appears before her without any warning, quoting Antigone as if she and the Theban princess were one.

"Do you think that love is weakness?”
“Now's not the time for talking, concentrate on your moves!”
“Titus said that love is weakness and that to be Commander is to be alone. Is it true? "
"And you? Do you think he's right?"
The little girl sniffs and blows on the strand of hair that has escaped from her messy braid to stick to her damp cheek.
"I don't know what love is" she finally said and her eyes were like two little dark ponds, lost in the woods.

Summary
And even if getting Rhaenyra in as a soloist was a staggering show of nepotism, she was still the best concert pianist on the planet. It was like when Dmitri Junior recorded Shostakovich’s second. You could get mad about it for a bit, but it was ultimately fair game. Alicent had already reached all these conclusions because Viserys had spoken to her weeks ago about programming the Concerto, which only had the unwanted effect of giving her time to turn it over in her brain like a particularly nauseating Rubix cube. Each solution of the puzzle led her to the same conclusion: she would be seeing Rhaenyra imminently, and there wasn’t a damn thing she could do about it.
After ten years apart, Rhaenyra Targaryen re-enters Alicent's life for a set of solo engagements with her orchestra. Things go about as well as expected (not very).

Summary
Six months after Clarke moves back to her tiny hometown to raise her two-year old toddler around what family she has left, she expects to do just that, and only that. She has two jobs; full time nurse, and full time single-mother. There's no time for anything else. Not even for the pretty firefighter who starts showing up unannounced at her home, looking for fires Clarke swears are a figment of everyone's imagination. That, or a faulty security panel with a direct emergency call button to the local fire station.
