“Hi,” Nick, who had so far been sitting leant back in his chair, moved forward, “How has your day been?”
“It’s been fine,” Charlie let out a small breath, “How about you?”
“I’d say that it just got a little bit brighter.”
“Oh my god,” Charlie was shaking his head, still smiling, “That one was cringe.”
“I know,” Nick laughed, running a hand through his hair, “But I thought it was worth a shot.”
Charlies eyes met with Nicks, and it was like nothing else mattered anymore. Each noise that surrounded them was blocked out by their own little moment. Charlie could almost have believed that there was no one there, except for them. There was no one left in the world, except for him and Nick.
And a strange lady who was standing by the windows.

“Good evening, my love! What kept you so long?” Arthur greeted him warmly as soon as he walked into the room.
“Your what now?!” Merlin blurted out wide-eyed. Surely he couldn't have heard that right.
But Arthur was unfazed by his apparent confusion and promptly planted a kiss on his lips as if it was the most natural thing in the world for him to do.
Merlin accidentally stumbles into a timeline where Arthur seems to think he is his lover, and a very affectionate one at that. Now he just has to figure out how he got there, how can he get back to his own time and why Arthur keeps thinking about poetry.
But little does he know that in this world he is a noble too and they are to be married within a month...
Or: Arthur is not emotionally constipated and Merlin doesn’t know how to deal with that.

”Do I even want to know?” Gaius asked dryly, with that iconic eyebrow raise of his that had been shot towards Merlin far too many times.
”Probably not, bu- Oi, stop that!” Merlin started, but turned to Arthur to slap his curious and wandering hand away from the hem of Merlin’s shirt, earning a small ow from the blond.
Merlin turned back to Gaius who now had his mouth wide open. The older man just stared at the pair for a moment, Arthur who couldn’t wipe away his stupid besotted smile when looking at his manservant and Merlin who had never looked so desperate for help as he tried to push his prince away while looking at his mentor. Gaius let out a deep breath and sat down on his chair. He was too old for this.
”Arthur’s in love with me.”
”Oh dear.”
