It's been 3 years since the events of the war between Bricksburg vs. DUPLO. Syspocalypstar is happier than ever. And Emmet and Lucy have even started a new family.
But then Rex Dangervest, once thought to be dead, suddenly appears alive and well! Needless to say, everyone is not happy, much less Rex himself. But Emmet sees a second chance for him to reform and maybe try again with their friendship.
But Rex's redemption might be more complicated than Emmet believes, with memories of the past haunting everyone involved. As well as a threat from the Systar System's past watching it all in the shadows, readying to strike.
And to top it all off, Rex soon becomes the unofficial uncle of Emmet and Lucy's children.
This redemption arc is going to be interesting.

Summary

After defeating the Lady Bone Demon, life in Megapolis has returned to normal. However, for one lonely ex-assassin, adjusting to a peaceful lifestyle has been difficult. Centuries spent lurking in the shadows, hunting those that have hunted him, and running from his past has left the Six-Eared Macaque wary of starting a new life.
Despite that, he finds himself in the presence of an an old friend and a new ally.
Even after everything he did, MK wants Macaque to co-mentor him alongside Sun Wukong, the Monkey King. For what reason? Macaque isn't sure, but he knows that this has got to be the worst idea that kid could ever have.
