Summary
As Frank tries to live a normal life as his new identity, Pete Castiglione, he finds himself sucked back into the persona of the Punisher when the woman who runs the gym he goes to has a dark past haunting her. As they both begin to let each other in, something blossoms that neither of them were planning on.
EDIT 10/02/2019: This is a short story set after the events of The Punisher season 1 and all the netflix marvel stuff that comes before that (Daredevil s1/s2/ s3 etc). Full disclosure I have never read the comics and I haven't yet watched season 2 of The Punisher so don't kill me please if I miss something.

Summary
Shane Walsh has a hero complex, but you don't need to be saved. You stayed friends with him anyway- until the night you didn't.
When the end of the world came along, you hadn't seen Shane in six months, your abusive ex-boyfriend had put you in the hospital, and your semi-estranged asshole brothers came to bust you out. When you run into Shane where you least expected to find him, you start to think maybe the ups and downs in your friendship might be because you like him a little more than just as friends. That doesn't matter though, because the two of you decided a long time ago you wouldn't make a good couple.
Of course, you always said last call makes liars out of everyone, and this sure looks like last call for humanity....

Combat boots still on. Shirtless. Half-hanging off the bed’s edge, gun in his hand, cradled to his chest. Ball of one foot braced on the floor; creak at the door, crack at the window, he’d be up and out and ready, gun cocked, half-grumbled shout to make you stay put.
Warrior, he is. Body of one. All blunt edges, hard clean lines. Face of one, too. Rugged nose, square jaw, squint to cut you in half—all of that toughness blighted by the little twist of red, white and blue tucked behind his ear.
World’s turned to shit, but the birds still sing—and there are moments of light and love amongst all the darkness.
