A HuskerDust Wild West AU
Husk nearly lost everything when he gambled his entire life in a game against Alastor, and in order to protect that which he holds most dear, he has become Alastor’s very own gunslinger—an outlaw forced to kill whoever Al tells him to, no questions asked. Summary
After way too many months of mutual pining, Husk and Angel Dust finally confess their feelings to one another and get to the bedroom. Angel experiences love and "making love" for the first time, and Husk learns what it's like to love again and have someone to live for. They both help each other through their insecurities and discover that they have been genuinely and madly in love with one another this whole time - and that they need each other more than anything. Angel is Husk's ray of hope and Husk is the antidote to the poison that had been hurting Angel for so long.

The sun, what an odd thing it was.
Created by a beautiful radiant hot energy, it used its beams of light to cast a familiar warmth upon the entirety of Faerun. It kept plants and animals alive, it provided warmth and comfort to those who needed it, Sunlight has always been associated with the growth of life and maintaining it. But to a vampire, the sun was a harsh enemy, its brightness could scorch a vampire’s entire body turning their silken skin into gray, pitiful ash. Astarion, despite two hundred years of waltzing through the shadows of the night, had come to love once again that feeling of sun against his skin. And he’d thought that, perhaps after their ordeal with the tadpole was over, that he’d never have to return to the darkness again.
Unfortunately, Astarion would soon find out just how wrong he was. But Halsin is determined to find some other way to allow his little star the freedom of the sun once more, and stumbles across a book that mentions a ring of sun walking. It's rare, but he's not willing to give up trying to seek this ring out. What starts as a trip through the city becomes a journey that both Astarion and Halsin both will never truly forget.

“Do you plan to fuck me tonight? Or am I to be forced to wait till morning?” He mutters, like acid on his tongue, lips curled up in annoyance. Astarion doesn’t quite know why he’s rushing him. He really does rather like the feeling of just Halsin’s lips brushing over his nape. It’s a soft, pleasant sensation, a firm kiss being pressed into his shoulder. The gentle warmth of it is enough to make Astarion shudder.
Perhaps that is the problem, after all—the point of this has certainly never been about Astarion’s enjoyment.
(Or, Halsin notices Astarion slipping away during an intimate moment.)
