Anthony hated Sundays. Then again, there wasn’t much that he actually liked about any of the other equally shitty days in the week. The food was increasingly shit. His current financial situation? Hardly better. After his most recent bender he wasn’t even sure how to distinguish dawn from dusk, so he’s surprised that he even remembered that he was expected to be at church in a couple of hours. Summary
Angel gave up redemption, the hotel, and everything he had been working towards. He is given an hour of peace, then its right back into the grind. Only this time he has no where to go home to besides the studio.
Except, things are different this time. After Vox's attack on heaven and the devastation of hell, everyone left working for the Vees are unsure what to do. And the ones contracted to them are terrified of what will happen to them. It was rare for anyone to work for the Vees for longer than a few years. A handful made it to a decade before they were thrown out or, in recent times, killed outright.
This makes Angel Dust different. To survive the power shift, eyes fall to him for guidence. And Angel isn't able to sucumb to apathy. He has no choice but to help.

Husk was doing mental gymnastics as to not think what caused it, what kept Angel away from the hotel for three days, what made him come back coked up and drunk in the middle of the night last night, what got him drinking alone tonight until Husk went to see him, he was trying his best, like he always did, like it always played out, the pretending, the familiar dance they did around the topic for months now, unfortunately, he wasn't good at it today.
Angel squirmed against the bandages, a small whine coming from him, and all Husk wanted was to never hear it again.
"Can you let me do this since you won't let me do anything else?" he asked, the words lacking the bite, tired, wrapping up his leg and moving to his wrists.
Or: Angel comes back after dissapearig for two days, hurt and bruised, and Husk tries his best to patch him up, and, maybe, adress the situation.

Angel held back every groan as he dragged himself off the couch. He didn't know how long Val had been gone, or how long he had until he returned. But he had to do something. With fumbling fingers, Angel pulled out his phone and squinted as he pulled up Cherri’s contact. They had a code, something Val would never figure out. A phrase both of them had agreed upon months ago in case one or the other got in too much trouble. So simple.
Coffee tomorrow?
Angel deleted the message right after it was sent, and for good measure, dropped the phone into a glass of scotch, speaker-down. He watched it flicker into death, then crawled back onto the couch. He’d have to wait until he was more alert to escape, but he could do it. He could last a few more days while Val calmed down. While he thought Angel wouldn’t go anywhere.
But he was fucking leaving, and soon.
