Soshiro can’t bring himself to be jealous of his captain. He loves her, just not the same way as Kafka does. Soshiro loves his captain in a way of respect and admiration. She saw something in him no one else did, she gave him his spot as vice captain and trusts him.
How could he ever feel jealous, or be mad, at her? She’s amazing, powerful, strong, beautiful. Of course Kafka liked her, no, loved her.
Kafka loves her.
Soshiro doesn’t want to be jealous. But he can’t help but want to be on the receiving side of that affection.
