Summary
Will starts a habit of sleeping in Mike's room.
Without a word, Mike reaches out and lightly grabs Will's jaw. He tilts his head up, down, side to side, studying every angle. There's no way he can't feel Will's pulse beating fast and hard against his hand, but either way, he doesn't comment on it.
"Hmm", sneaks out of Mike's mouth.
"Hmm?", Will can only parrot back.
Now he studies Will's eyes, trying to commit their shape and hue to memory - trying to erase memories of Will's possessed dark, clouded eyes. His Will, but not.
Will softens in his grasp and opens himself to Mike's gaze, no longer trying to steel himself from the moment, hide himself away. Just present, just here.
And something in Mike softens, too.
"There you are," Mike whispers.
This is hungry work.

Summary
A post-canon (with some small tweaks) road trip full of tension, nightmares, gay panic, and a very long drive toward the truth.

Will just wanted to bring his brother home. He didn’t plan on sharing motel beds, surviving Mike Wheeler’s jealousy spiral, or confronting feelings he’s spent years burying.
Mike thinks Will likes girls.
Will thinks Mike will never love him back.
Both of them are wrong.Or
Water dripped from Will's hair, ran down his jaw, caught on his lips.
Mike stared at it.
Stared like he'd forgotten where he was.
Then, slowly he lifted a towel and pressed it gently to Will's mouth, wiping the water away. His hand didn't even shake. He was steady.
Will's breath stuttered. Tingles tremored all the way up his spine.
He didn't move. He couldn't. He was too aware of Mike's hand, of the way his eyes kept dropping back to his lips.
That look again.
The one Will had seen a dozen times now and never understood.

Summary
The figure stopped shy of the lamp's glow. Just out of reach that Will couldn’t make out anything except a dark silhouette. Will was fully aware their attention was now solely on him, original task abandoned so they could stare at him from the dark. His breath was coming quickly now, wet and sharp with still dripping blood into the back of his throat. [...]
“William…?”
That single murmuring of his name was a tragic blow to his feigned confidence. Will would know that voice in death. Mike spoke to him so softly, as if he were a frightened animal that could turn skittish any moment. The sound Will let out in relief was reminiscent of a sob. [...]
“...Mike?”
The figure took another gentle step forward.
It was like the world had turned upside down. Again.

When the dust has finally settled in Hawkins and the world has turned the right way up, Will finds himself in another dimension. One where Mike has sworn an oath of devotion to protect every version of Will, in every lifetime. One where this Mike feels very differently to his own. One where Will must dig up the feelings he thought he buried years ago, or let them consume him whole.

Summary
It's 1992, and Mike and Will are juniors in college and living together in a tiny NYC apartment. Life is great. It's everything Mike could ever want: his best friend, an incredible city, and the world at his fingertips. The only problem? He's in love with said best friend and has no idea how he could ever tell him.
Luckily for him, he's presented with an opportunity to get much closer to him every Friday night, as long as he promises not to get all weird after. How hard could that be?
Or: Mike and Will become friends with benefits and the universe laughs because they're both ridiculously in love with each other.

Summary
Sometimes, things feel normal again. Will's friends smile and laugh and make him feel like his world isn't crashing down around him every second of the day. He doesn't feel like a mistake and can pretend living with Mike Wheeler isnt eating him up from the inside out. The normal let's him breathe, let's him pretend they're not in very real danger.
Mike seems to have a habit of ruining that feeling.
It's only fair that Will let's him know what that's like.or
Mike is jealous that Will didn't tell him about his first kiss and supposed 'girlfriend'. Mike is also a jealous idiot who won't let Will explain that he hasn't ever had either of those things.
