Sirius plays the game. Even though he makes it all the way to New York City, still he works for his father's company, still he capitulates to his parents' every stupid demand, he thinks: when Regulus, his brother ten years his junior, is old enough and can make his own choices, Sirius can leave all this shit behind. Every day feels like a waiting game, life on pause until the perfect conditions are met and finally he can live the life he wants to live it.
But now Regulus is old enough, and it's still the same old bullshit with no end in sight, and Sirius is drowning. Until one day, a Teaching Assistant crashes his motorcycle at his feet.

Summary
Sirius Black has never met a silence he didn’t want to fill with a bad joke, a cigarette, or a questionable hookup.
Remus Lupin, on the other hand, studies silences like they’re something sacred—catalogues them, respects them, knows when to leave them alone.Sirius is grieving. Or maybe just aggressively not-grieving. He’s tired, a little unhinged, probably smells like lavender-scented mold, and trying (sort of) to tick off a self-improvement list that mostly reads like someone shouted “healing” into a Pinterest board.
Then there’s Remus: tall, annoyingly clever, half-thrifted academic boy who smells like lemons and has zero patience for Sirius' rich-boy nihilism.
This is a story about grief, group counseling, guilt, weird eye contact, sweaty concerts, mildew apartments, and two idiots who share a bit too much trauma. It’s about how sometimes the quiet people see you clearer than anyone else. And how maybe, just maybe, that turns out to be terrifyingly right.THE STORY IS NOW COMPLETE.

Absolutley wonderful fic. An exploration of grief and depression, GREAT Sirius pov, sometimes too good at describing how he's feeling, ie I'm in this picture and i don't like it. Great dialogues and banter. Reread for sure.

He can still hear the party in the other room, hazy and indistinct but in here it’s quiet; just the sound of Remus’ breath in his ear, static in the receiver, white noise fizzling at the base of Sirius’ spine.
He hears Remus swallow and then: “You still there?”
Sirius lolls his head to the side looking down at the tile floor. There’s a crack in the grout and Sirius digs the heel of his boot into it.
“Do you still have that freckle behind your ear?” he says in answer.
“What?” Remus titters, his voice choking out, startled and brittle. The corner of Sirius’ lip starts to curve up and he catches it, teeth between lip.
“The freckle,” he says, white knuckled grip on the telephone, “the one behind your ear. The one you scratch at when you get nervous.”
“Well I can’t very well see behind my ear, but it’s only been two months, Sirius. I reckon it’s still there.”

There were two paths in front of Remus, one where he flirted back with the beautiful, handsome, dangerous man in front of him, and one where he remembered that Sirius was his co-worker, and more importantly, made his living doing the one thing Remus hated most in the world.
“You’ll find that beyond all that, I’m rather quite boring.” Remus said, as he settled on a decision.
Sirius sat back in his chair and gave him a doubtful look, and the start of a smirk. “We’ll see.”

As he began to turn to leave he heard the impolite fucker speak."Are the flowers really that off-putting, or is it just me?" asked the chocolaty smooth voice.
Fuck. Remus had always had a thing for chocolate.

That I would say is an accurate representation of my feelings when reading the fic. They are so soulmates here, Sirius being sick when arguing/worrying about Remus?? Yeah, connected by fate. I will absolutley reread at some point. 10/10 would recommend. -

For some reason, Remus never let the Marauders visit his home in rural Wales. Sirius tries not to think too hard about it. He's sure Remus has a perfectly good reason for that. But this summer Prongs is going on a week-long date with Evans, so Sirius decides it’s time to pay his favourite prefect a surprise visit.
What he doesn’t expect, however, is to find the werewolf with his tongue down a muggle boy’s throat.
Or, Sirius finds out Remus is queer and gets very confused. Ft. internalized homophobia, denial of feelings, late-night talks, and cute flashbacks.
