He could not stick with the thought as he rounded Rusty’s head and saw Scar on the beast’s saddle, gazing out at the sunrise, back turned to him.
The early morning sun illuminated him perfectly, Grian remarked. It highlighted his calm green eyes, his wild hair, his gentle smile. Everything he loved, basking in that warm glow. It was a privilege to gaze upon him even now, when he couldn’t see his gorgeous face and hadn't yet met his kind eyes.

Summary

The insurmountable sound of the roof caving in, the support beams failing, and the marble decorations shattering around him seemed to stop all at once. There was nothing but silence. Cold, abrupt, threatening silence.
