He clocked the angle before the hit even landed; Marlow coming in too hot, too fast, shoulder high. Shane turned and slowed at the wrong moment, skates clipping, balance gone.
Impact.
The sound carried oddly through the arena, duller than boards, sharper than ice. Shane went down hard, helmet skidding, body twisting. And then it all happened at once. Skates tangled. Marlow stumbled over him as he fell, too. A skate’s blade flashed too close, too sharp.

Shane's injuries during the Boston/Montreal game are much more life-threatening than in canon. Ilya's quick thinking and bone-deep instincts are the only reason he survives.

Late into the night, moonlight streamed in through the curtains. On the bed laid the two of them, curled up in each other’s arms after an evening spent together. Harry, with his back against George’s chest, whose arms wrapped firmly around him, tilted his head to the side. He breathed in deeply, certain he’d never get tired of how the other man smelled- a hint of cigarettes and something else, something uniquely George.
He didn’t mean to still be here, usually he would have gone back by now, but after the others had gone to bed, leaving just the two of them in the dimly lit kitchen, one thing led to another and Harry followed George to his room. For a split second, he’d hesitated, ultimately deciding to go on despite the part of his brain that sounded suspiciously like Hermione warning him that he ought to return to his dimension before anyone could start questioning where he’d been.

The seat squeaks, and Dean follows the sound, his gaze trailing down. There—where Jack sat moments ago—is a much tinier version of him. He looks mostly the same, just...smaller and more dimply and cuter, if that's possible. His clothes have shrunk to fit him, so he's casually sitting in a t-shirt, jeans, and scuffed tennis shoes. He swings his feet from side-to-side over the edge of Baby's seat the same way Sam used to in the back, and he stares up at Dean with clear eyes.
"Oh," Dean blurts out, eyes bulging, "Cas is going to fucking kill me."
