“But—” Wriothesley coughs around the lump in his throat. “I was looking at them for you.”
“If you were searching on my behalf,” Neuvillette laughs, bright and glorious, “next time, bring me one closer to the shade of your own eyes, Your Grace.”

Summary

Dougier manages to escape when the prophecy occurs and many months after none were able to find any trace of the man. Now long forgotten by all, well almost. Wriothesley on the other hand is suffering from all the stress that he had accumulated during and after the prophecy came true he then gets a really bad nightmare on his birthday. Sigewinne wakes him up and takes him to see a moon flower, they fall asleep Dougier strikes. Neuvillette finds himself lost now with less work to get done but also with his relationship with the Duke. Childe goes back to Fontaine in search of a wannabe harbinger called the Collector. Furina is still eating her only food and is in search of something fun to do.

Summary
The victor stood motionless amidst the sand and dust, only looking up in response to the smattering of applause from the stands like he’d only just noticed there was an audience present. Amidst the general clatter of spectators getting up to leave or lingering to chat with acquaintances, Neuvillette remained in his seat as he watched the lone gladiator stride off with handlers trailing behind, all while the last words of the announcer faded into the air of the emptying Colosseum.
“... defeated by the tribute, Wriothesley!”
Neuvillette is the Court of Fontaine's youngest senator, seeking to sponsor a gladiator in the King's tournament this year as part of his plans to uncover more information about his heritage. An unexpected deed on the first day of the qualifying rounds catches his eye, but neither he nor the gladiator he signs a contract with have the faintest idea of how thoroughly their lives will be intertwined beyond their expectations. Meanwhile more powerful forces are poised to strike from behind the scenes, and the answers they seek may end up overturning everything they thought they knew.
