“Landlady, save me!” Xiaoshi cries loudly, ducking behind her.
Qiao Ling frowns at his antics, usually Cheng Xiaoshi is cowering behind Lu Guang for his partner to save Cheng Xiaoshi from her. “Cheng Xiaoshi…” she trails off when she then sees Lu Guang, flustered and wearing a peeved expression, as he approaches them. “Cheng Xiaoshi, are you teasing Lu Guang again? Only you can actually dig under his skin to make him have such a visceral reaction of rage,” she chides her childhood friend.
Xiaoshi shakes his head at her. “He’s being the bully!”
“Cheng Xiaoshi,” Lu Guang huffs at him. “You need rest.”

Even if Xiaoshi was distant in this timeline, he was still good. Lu Guang didn’t think that would ever change, which wasn’t a bad thing. Lu Guang would just be the bad thing this time around to make sure that Xiaoshi remained good and most importantly: alive.

Summary
