And Captain Scarlet is our hero's name."Beginning with a light-hearted challenge to rewrite the prologue in the style of Shakespeare, prologue became scene became act became multiple episodes, and quite by accident a writing project was born.
A Literature teacher by trade, CaptainGeoluread combines a lifelong love of both Gerry and Sylvia Anderson and William Shakespeare into a series of scripts based on 1967's sci-fi thriller 'Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons,' swapping 1967 for 1607, the retro-future for the Renaissance, Slough for Stratford-upon-Avon, Century 21 for the King's Men and Lew Grade for James I.
No mere 1:1 'translation', this series not only sees (an as-yet-undertermined number of) the classic scripts rewritten in blank verse and prose, but also some period-appropriate adjustments and loving additions!
