Enterprise is safe to fly another day. All thanks to Captain James T. Kirk's sacrifice. He's made peace with his death, even though it breaks his heart one final time to see the hurt in Spock's eyes. Still, the last thing he gets to see is the face of one of his dearest friends... until his eyes snap back open. Not in a hospital. In a shuttle as it lands at the Academy.
“Once you exit the shuttle you are free to return to your dorms. Those of you who are new, you’ll follow me to registration and physicals,” a vaguely familiar-looking officer says, and Jim’s heart stops in his chest. Surprising, considering it shouldn’t be beating at all.

Beautiful work, great characterization of Jim and very good attention to detail throughout the entire rewriting of AOS ST 2009. And as always, great podfic by cookiemom6067. I really enjoyed this work!!! I wish there was more with spock and jim living out the rest of their time together, but I think the more gen vibes of most the fic worked really well for world building and a slow burn for them, and we can imagine the rest of their lives together

😭😭😭😭so good. Its been a while since ive read a fic to completion, like, a year or two. Its such an indescribably graditfying feeling to have the time to enjoy my long lost hobby and be welcomed back in the warm arms of this fan fiction. It was so well written, enveloped me in its world in a way that I have missed dearly. The characters were a joy to read, and so full of life. I absolutely loved the thought put into the academy trial part, the way I could completely understand both parties' perspectives and viscerally felt the betrayal when jim realized the fantasy had shattered. Its beautifully written, and I have little else to say other than high praises for this fan fiction. Wonderfully done.
