He arcs his neck back until his head is resting on Kirishima’s shoulder, mouth only inches away from his ear. “You want something?” he asks and he can feel Kirishima shiver against him, hands gripping at the junction where his leg meets his thigh. Kirishima nods, watching the way his chest moves in the soft tv light, and Katsuki grunts. “Then fucking ask for it.”

Summary
Bored beyond comprehension, Ryuk decides after seeing what humans do with the Death Note, to experiment with what would happen if a human lived their whole life with access and knowledge of the Death Note. This leads him to find four-month-old Light Yagami, whom he decides to use as his test subject and has a little fun.
Light's parents, as with anybody else, can't see Ryuk and thus think Light is possessed, so while trying to find answers, Soichiro turns to a young cadet for assistance taking care of his son.
Light grows up knowing he is different but rarely bored with Ryuk by his side throughout his whole life and having little interest in using the Death Note, training in Shinigami magic and learning the ways of the world instead. But things become interesting when, after multiple incidents regarding his secret, someone else with the Death Note begins using it as the mass killer known as Kira.
Add in a dumbfounded detective and a task force all aware of Light's situation and far past caring, and Ryuk knows he made the right choice because he's found plenty of entertainment, even though he has to fight the protective instinct he's developed towards Light.

Light always wished he was perfect, but that was just a dream. Still, he held onto that hope, because maybe if he did his father would love him again. But then, shifting in and out of consciousness he meets L. Being perfect for his parent's had always been Light's dream, but now maybe it doesn't have to.

No one actually knows Light.
It’s not always an insidious thing, part of a scheme, it’s just something about the way Light talks really. He has a way of directing conversation away with subtle, gentle, tactics and he’s more interested in being likeable than being honest.
But L wants to know everything.

L has loved Kira since he knew there was a Kira to love. Unfortunately for him Light Yagami doesn’t quite understand the whole process of being seduced so L will have to take the frog in the pot approach to taming this beast.
