Matsuda thinks, long and hard - or, as much as his intoxicated brain can. “When… when I’m at work.. when.. I’m with you..?” He says, and he looks up at Yamamoto when he says it. Yamamoto’s brows raise.

He exhaled, going into the bathroom and locking the door behind him. Finally, finally, some peace and quiet—
“Hello,” a voice said from behind the shower curtain.
Light screamed, flinging himself away from the shower curtain.
“Don’t scream.” The voice sounded mildly annoyed, and a pale hand reached out and tugged the shower curtain open. “I don’t look that horrendous, I'm sure. And I'm definitely not as terrible as those people partying down there.”
Light stared at the person before him. He was curled up in the bathtub and looking quite content with the life choices he had made thus far, except he also looked like an anthropomorphic version of a raccoon whose main diet was derived from rummaging through countless dumpsters. The way this unknown person was hunched up in the bathtub was also reminiscent of a shrimp, and the sight made Light vaguely uncomfortable.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “I didn’t mean to scream, I was just…startled, I suppose. I wasn’t expecting someone to be up here…”

Summary
Yamamoto and Matsuda are friends, just friends as far as Yamamoto knows. But with Matsuda’s clingy behavior’s increase becoming more apparent since his frequent requests to go out drinking, Yamamoto is confused as to why he’s so willing to go, or why he’s been way too nice to Matsuda. Things between him and his friend are changing, and Yamamoto’s not sure if he minds it or not.

Summary
Bored beyond comprehension, Ryuk decides after seeing what humans do with the Death Note, to experiment with what would happen if a human lived their whole life with access and knowledge of the Death Note. This leads him to find four-month-old Light Yagami, whom he decides to use as his test subject and has a little fun.
Light's parents, as with anybody else, can't see Ryuk and thus think Light is possessed, so while trying to find answers, Soichiro turns to a young cadet for assistance taking care of his son.
Light grows up knowing he is different but rarely bored with Ryuk by his side throughout his whole life and having little interest in using the Death Note, training in Shinigami magic and learning the ways of the world instead. But things become interesting when, after multiple incidents regarding his secret, someone else with the Death Note begins using it as the mass killer known as Kira.
Add in a dumbfounded detective and a task force all aware of Light's situation and far past caring, and Ryuk knows he made the right choice because he's found plenty of entertainment, even though he has to fight the protective instinct he's developed towards Light.

I wrote this because I had been desperate for more. And for certain chapters. Because I refused sleep.
Kira. Light Yagami is long gone and the world went back to normal function. Many still praise Kira despite the various textbooks portraying the vigilante as the worst terrorist in history.
Another Shinigami becomes bored shortly after the appearance of Auction Kira, or A-Kira. Consequently he drops his notebook and the game restarts
Will this just be a repeat of the last war between L and Kira? Or does this have something else in store?

Summary
Imagine being told you are going to be locked up in solitary confinement. You may be set free or you may be killed, and it all depends on events that are completely out of your control. How long could you stand it? The terrible isolation of what is essentially Death Row induces a form of insanity. It's called Death Row Syndrome.
And this is what befalls Light Yagami during his 53 days in isolation, stripping down his sense of self until it reaches a point he no longer recognizes his own name and only wants an end to his suffering. As his delusions get worse and his mental and physical health rapidly deteriorate, the task force scrambles for an answer to save Light from his own mind, and eventually bring in Sachiko, which has some... less than expected results, ending in the Kira case being put on an unofficial halt as all the lead investigators have their own personal issues to get through.
L, realizing he may have destroyed his best friend beyond repair, falls into depression, unable to focus on the case and returns to Wammy's House until he can get himself back together. Will the two damaged souls find each other again? Or are they both doomed to suffer in a world where Kira rules?
