College is the best time to try new things and figure out who you really are... right?
Just a slice of life "what goofiness do these guys get up too during the week leading up to Sunny's
birthday" sort of fic. Borderline crack. Just having fun with this. Angst is present but only as
references to their past... keeping this as a happy end. Marijuana is consumed. Sex is had. Feelings
are explored. -

But living in the shadows is tiring.
Little by little, Shinji begins to see the walls he created crumble before his eyes, and the culprit of this could be none other than a certain albino with eyes as red as the rarest of rubies.

Summary
Basil woke up at the hospital to find Sunny confessing the truth to his friends. He hoped that it was over, that they could finally be happy again, but Sunny dropped off the face of the Earth. Now, it was up to Basil to handle the fallout and future.
Forgiveness would come slower from some than others, and the road ahead was long, but it was there—and Basil wouldn't be alone this time.
(A post-canon Basil-centric sunflower fic focused on a realistic depiction of the healing process, exploring the relationships within the friend group (mainly Basil's relationships), and ending my brainrot. I cannot exaggerate how terrible the first few chapters are compared to the later ones; please give this a chance lol.)

Lemme know if the tags are used incorrectly.]Unable to take the truth, Sunny jumps off the hospital roof and lands with a sickening crunch. But instead of going to hell, he wakes up in a familiar, comfortable bed, with a second bed beside him. He checks the calender - it's the day before the recital. A second chance, perhaps, to fix everything?
Mari is alive, Basil is his old happy self, Hero still does the best pancakes, Kel makes up stupid puns while Aubrey hits him with an eggplant. To Sunny, after what he's been through in his old life, it's almost heaven. But is everything *really* as rosy as it seems? Well, maybe Sunny isn't exactly in a state to judge either.

Summary
There was something nostalgic about the suburbs. How quaint the little town of Faraway felt. It was there they would grow up and learn to be people. Through each and every memory they shared. Basil knew this well, and being as sentimental as he was, he wanted to experience life with Sunny. He wanted to help him through the rough times and share the perfect little moments. Because life for them was tough and imperfect, but they still could have hope for the future.
Maybe they could discover what it meant to live the suburban dream.
