“Harvey, what are you doing?” She said softly. “Who are you calling?”
“I’m calling, Mike.”
“Oh god,” she breathed. “Harvey.” She placed a hand on his arm to lower the phone from his ear. She took it from his grip and hung up.
“Why did you do that?”
“Harvey…Mike is gone.”
Remaining ignorant and trying to avoid the obvious, he asked, “Where? I didn’t let him have a vacation.”
“Harvey, stop,” Donna sniffed, cradling his face in both her hands. “Mike was in a bus accident last night. He died. The doctors couldn’t save him. You…you were catatonic after we saw him. I took you home.”

Summary
It was nearing one a.m., but Buck didn’t care. He needed to leave his apartment, to get out of his own head. He was depressed…not that he would tell anyone that especially after the whole grocery store incident. Exhausting. Exhausting. You’re exhausting. He didn’t want to bother Maddie either. She was finally happy and with Chim, unloading his issues on her would be unfair. He should be happy though; he finally got back to the firehouse…with his family, but it seems that his “family” didn’t want him. It seemed that no one did these days.
Buck is in the right place at the right time. However after being iced out by his only family, depression and dark thoughts cause grave consequences. Will Buck survive so the 118 make things right?

Buck was able to keep himself from sighing this time, the frustration coursing through him, bursting through the surface, even as his chest tightened, “What do I have to do to prove to you how sorry I am?”
Eddie let out a dry hollow twisted huff of laugh, “When are you going to get it through that thick skull of yours that there is nothing you can do? Huh? You betrayed us. You betrayed me. What makes you think I should forgive you? Hmm? Why is it that you can’t just accept it, let it go and move on?”

Eddie could pick Buck from a million miles away. Buck’s entire being was like one bright light in an otherwise cloudy sky. So, he was really interested to know why some stranger was wearing his boyfriend’s turnout coat and pretending to be him.

Bobby stood in front of him for a bit, looking both unsure and sure about what Buck was feeling. He pulled the younger man into a hug, Buck flinched but hugged the man back.
Bobby pulled away, but kept his hands on Buck’s shoulders. “I’m really proud of you, you know that, right?”
Buck bit back a teary laugh, he didn’t trust himself to say anything, deciding to only nod and not look at Bobby directly.
