One day he’ll have a long chat with Geralt about how much his previous partners had no taste.
Right now, though —
“What,” he asks, moving closer, “that you’re lovely?”
Geralt… doesn’t flinch, not exactly, but a few more tears fall down, and — “You don’t have to lie if —”
“I’m not,” Jaskier interrupts him at once, letting his hands go to grasp his face, pressing their lips together to try and start making his point. “Fuck, you are lovely, other than drop-dead handsome, but then again I haven’t been staring at you like that for months for nothing.”
Or: in which it turns out Geralt does have a praise kink that hits him harder than he'd thought. Jaskier is more than glad to indulge in it.

Summary
The thing is, Witchers aren’t supposed to be affectionate. Geralt, in his own particular way, undoubtedly is however. Unfortunately, the Witcher is truly inept when it comes to handling affection and processing emotion. All of this is to say that Jaskier could have predicted this. “This” being Geralt standing helplessly as he holds a cat currently purring in his arms.

Summary
“Can’t afford it,” Geralt grunted.
“It’s not that expensive to rent a bed -” Jaskier started.
It stings to have it pushed in his face that his life isn’t normal, so far beyond normal that someone like Jaskier can’t fathom it.
“It’s expensive to rent a private room,” Geralt couldn’t keep the snarl out of his voice. “Or do you think anyone wants to sleep near a witcher?”
When Geralt meets Jaskier in Posada, he is jaded, bitter and so lonely some days he thinks he might kill him. Jaskier is young, bright, and not afraid of tarnishing his reputation by standing by a witcher.
Years later, Geralt repays the kindness.

On a hunting trip with all of their friends, Arthur learns that Merlin has kissed everyone there… everyone except him, of course. For reasons he can’t quite explain, this causes Arthur to feel a whirlwind of emotions: shock, confusion, anger, and… jealousy? But that can’t be, can it. No, definitely not.
