Kel has no one left. His waking hours are a hellscape he has to slog through every day. He only has one person he has any hope of reconnecting with, and maybe from there, he'd be able to reform the friend group. But the light and the end of the tunnel is shrinking, despite Kel running for the exit, and he's only hanging only by a string.
