After finding sunny bleeding out in his own bed, and Mari hanging from a tree, Kel traps himself inside his own brain, refusing to believe either of them were truly dead. The night plays on loop in Kel's head, changing ever so slightly with each passing day. Each day being a new way for him to blame himself for what happened. During the funeral, Kel catches sight of a small figure waving at him from afar, a familiar smile on their face. He quickly chases after the figure, only for it to duck around a corner and a small friendship bracelet being left in its place.
An AU where the dead communicate with the living, denial and self-blame split a friend group apart, and two lovers forced to be apart due to being from different planes of existence.

After a neutral ending, Basil takes on the role of Kel's guardian angel, saving him from death in a foolish way. Kel now has to hide his glowing friend with a 6-meter wingspan from the rest of society.
