Númenór had been lost the moment her husband brought Sauron back and installed him in his own bedchamber, chained at first, later free and smiling and attending Council with all the rest, who were all too swayed by the beauty of Sauron and the pride of Ar-Pharazôn in subduing him so utterly — in taming him, they thought, but Sauron was not to be tamed. But her Númenór had been lost before Sauron arrived. It had been lost the moment her father died and Pharazôn showed her what he really was — greedy above all. A thief and a robber. She would not thank the Valar for that.
