Stupid Aomine, coming over, eating all his food and leaving dishes for him to do. If he had told his early high school self that Aomine Daiki would be one of his best friends in University he probably would have gotten a punch to the face.
Aomine. That idiot. Kagami couldn't keep the fond smile off his face as he thought of him.
They had played a few one-on-ones in high school and, well, they just sort of fell into a routine of playing then crashing at Kagami's apartment...all the time. They'd ended up at universities just a few train stops away from each other, and then Aomine suddenly had a toothbrush and a permanent drawer in the guest bedroom at Kagami's apartment and a key?! No clue how that happened. Nope. Not at all a combination of Kagami having a crush on Aomine the size of the sun and thus being too lenient when Aomine made himself at home.

Summary
The Clave is more harsh than it is lenient. After all, 'the law is hard but it's the law' as Alec Lightwood well knows.
So when the fact that he has found the Cup but not reported it leaks to the Clave, they're displeased. Their ire only grows when officials arrive to find that the Cup is also missing, with Alec's own stele having been used to steal it.
With his sister, parabatai and Valentine's daughter all missing, there is no one to have Alec's back when the Clave take their pound of flesh, and destroy Alec's purpose in life in the process.
