He'd been having nightmares since the day Will went missing, and headaches and even nosebleeds were symptoms of sleep deprivation and stress, both of which weren't exactly uncommon occurrences in his life. He hadn't heard any clock, and he thinks he'd know if he'd been hunted by a monster from another dimension - probably.
But Mike was also not a complete idiot - usually - and he was good at recognising patterns.Most damming of all, all of this had stopped practically the second he left Hawkins.

The moment Mike Wheeler realised Vecna was targeting him, he accepted that he was going to die.
Mike hated November.
November was when Will went missing.
November was possession and hospitals.
November was watching Will’s body being dragged out of the quarry, pale and lifeless, while Mike’s world split cleanly in two.November was cursed. At least, that was what Mike told himself.
That belief lodged itself deeper the morning he woke up on November 1st

Will rubbed the back of his neck, a warm smile on his face. “Stop it, Mike.”
Mike shook his head, still smiling big. “Don’t be embarrassed! You saved my life! I don’t know what I’d do without you. What any of us would do without you.”
“Really, Mike, stop it,” he spit out, his soft expression suddenly becoming sour. The sound of his voice was harsh, a tone that Will had never used towards Mike. He was taken aback.
“Oh, uh, I’m sor-“
“Can you stop flirting with me? I don’t like you like that, I never will.”

After Will unlocks his powers, Mike becomes Vecna’s next target.
