“I bet he’d tell me how much of a bad idea this is..” Wukong wondered, watching the cub bite at his fingers, not doing any damage. “Or maybe he’d help me, accept this cub as yours as well and-” Mk watched as Wukong let out a shaky breath, slowly taking his hand away. “Well, that doesn’t matter. Rest up cub, I’ll get you to the mortals tomorrow.”

Hamato Yoshi was painfully familiar with death.
It followed his family line like a plague, taking so much in the name of “sacrifice”
Through all his life he had scraped and clawed to save himself and his sons for this fate, trying to keep them from danger and assured them that their lives meant so much more than their death will ever could (And look where that got him).
Then, as Lou Gitsu, Big Mama’s champion. He saw death countless times, so many by his own demise. Because of his own foolishness.So no, Yoshi was far from being unfamiliar with death.
The thing is, it didn’t matter one bit, because in his mind death had nothing to do with his son.
