“Ya know, you and Kiri are about to have something in common,” Midoriya says from the kitchen, putting their leftovers away.
“What’s that?”
“Both of your best friends are moving at the same time,”.
Oh. He supposes that is true. He is losing Midoriya and Kirishima is losing Bakugou.
“Maybe you guys can hang out more while we’re gone!”
Shouto pauses. He does recall thinking he and Kirishima should hang out more often at some point last night. His confidence in saying so at the time though was fueled by alcohol and currently, he found his nerves bubbling up at the idea.
“Yes maybe,” He simply says.
Todoroki Shouto has his whole carefully constructed routine disrupted when his best friend Midoriya moves to America with his mate, Bakugou.
In his absence, an old classmate manages to help fill the void left behind.
Soon, Shouto finds his whole world turned upside down as he questions his belief about love and relationships not being for him.

The news had broken two months ago, one month before the start of the new semester. Number two hero Endeavour had been found dead, killed in his own home. His son had quickly been determined the number one suspect, and within a matter of hours the boy had been branded a villain.
Aizawa knows all of this, had seen the body of the former hero himself and the gruesome death that had befallen him. But he had also seen blood that wasn't Endeavour's staining the bed sheets, and heard of the isolation, training and dicipline the child had gone through from his sibblings.
And now, two months later, with All might standing outside his door with the new Todoroki villain in tow, Aizawa can't make himself think of the boy as anything other than a victim.

Sometimes Todoroki wondered how much his isolation from others in his youth played into his issues and how much exists simply because he is who he is. He often relies on his sister for questions like these. She had a plethora of friends throughout her life. She has spent years smiling at her phone as texts come through or talking to Shouto about her classmates and their adventures to lighten up the mood. Natsuo has spoken so few words to Shouto that he could count them on his hand, yet, he still knows how many parties he goes to in college due to his sister’s nagging and metaphorical ear tugging.
How did they stand the spiny burn that others' attention and touch bring?
