Loki staunchly refused to ever fall asleep near Mobius, never allowing his head to slump onto Mobius’ shoulder or his knee to press against Mobius’ thigh, feeling Mobius brush a strand of hair from their forehead before they dozed off.
So yeah.
Whatever it was that Mobius and the TVA were planning, it wasn’t working.Otherwise know as, Loki is touch-starved and oblivious.

Summary
Mobius finds himself pruned twice in a three day span. Temporally displaced. Moved and managed and regurgitated onto someones front lawn and then behind a bowling alley in Pasco County, Florida. His stomach hurts with the lasting effects of it, like the recoil of kinetic energy that’s seated right into the spaces of his softer organs; so he’s grateful when the waiter tries to place complimentary chips and salsa in front of them and Loki tells him, “No, absolutely not.”
They find themselves moving like vagrants until they can sort it out and Loki keeps giving Mobius gifts instead of talking about it.

He feels Mobius chuckle into the hollow of his throat, and he might be indignant about that if the flush of his warm breath wasn’t so delicious.
“How would that’ve worked?” he asks, but the tone of his voice is more curious than sarcastic, encouraging Loki’s imagination as he was so oft to do. “You go to the Tesseract megastore at some point and then…?”

That rattles something fierce within Loki. The fear climbs up into his throat, squeezing tight until he is roaring and raging and ravaged.
He is Loki. He is a God. He alone is burdened with glorious purpose.
"I will not bow to whatever fanciful illusions you have of me!"
"Oh, illusions." Mobius steps forwards. It doesn't change the distance. "Yeah, yeah. Okay. Let's hone in on that for a sec cos clearly you're still stuck in one. You said you didn't enjoy hurting people, I heard you say that and I know you weren’t lying. But I'm beginning to wonder if there's a part of you that just doesn't care because guess what - you did hurt people today."
Loki sucks in a breath, unsure why it lands so heavy in his lungs.
"Me included."
Poetic, how their fall begins when Mobius had become an achingly familiar presence.
