Daniel has an article on a music venue in Paris called Le Palace due tomorrow that’s still sitting unedited on his desk, but instead of editing it and turning it from some half-baked garbage into medium well garbage, he’s sitting on the second story of a double-decker tour bus. Why might he be sitting on the same bus listening to the same uninspired script for the fifth time tonight? It isn’t his fault, really, it’s the fault of the creature sitting beside him watching Mathieu with his orange eyes blown open in that half-crazed half-enraptured look he got every Friday for a few hours.

Lestat turns to him, lips curled in cruel laughter. “Five years? And you still play butler for the little demon? How sweet. His personal mini gremlin.”
Armand cuts in for Daniel, closing the distance between them. “Yes, Daniel is still my assistant, Lestat.” And suddenly they’re touching. Daniel nearly jumps at the sensation, head whipping around to see Armand’s face. “And also, he is my boyfriend.”

After their talk on the bench, Louis takes Armand home to stake his claim, as vampires do.
