Clarke noticed the man to her right at the bar the moment they walked in. He’s what she imagines when people say tall, dark, and handsome — complete with curls and warm brown eyes and, apparently, a deep voice, slanted with a slight accent. She looks over at him to find him looking at her with sympathy.
“Who, Finn?” Clarke glances back at him; he’s scrolling through his phone. No doubt on the Godfather Wikipedia, stockpiling new arguments for why Clarke should really get with the times and watch this movie. Just the thought makes her shudder. “Yeah, I can’t argue with that.”

After a shower to wash the feel of a long car ride off him, Bellamy flopped on the bed with a huff. He was tired from the drive and absolutely not pouting over the fact that he wouldn’t be rooming with his girlfriend.
He supposed he could understand, he knew that Clarke’s mother was a bit old-fashioned— traditional. They weren’t married, not yet. The ring in his nightstand back home would hopefully change that soon. But that meant that Abby still insisted they slept in separate rooms when they came over to spend the weekend, even though they had been dating for four years by now.
The door creaked open and Clarke’s sheepish face appeared in the doorway. Bellamy felt his annoyance melt away at the sweet face of his girlfriend.
Or, the one where Bellamy and Clarke fuck while trying to keep quiet.

There’s no dramatic run up or lift in the air as they approach each other, but they extend their arms out to each other immediately and wrap one another up completely. Pressed against her like this, even fully clothed, Bellamy realises, or rather, remembers, how far out of his depth he is. He distracts himself by running his fingers through her hair.
She speaks first, breaking the calming silence of their hug.
“I missed you so much,” she says, her voice muffled by his chest, which her face is pressed into. Those words mean everything to him. He knows he’ll play them on a loop in his head when he’s alone in bed later.
“I missed you too,” Bellamy responds. (Understatement of the year, he’s drunkenly cried at least three times in the past year she’s been in London). He presses a chaste kiss to the top of her head

Clarke returns home after a year studying abroad and moves back in with Bellamy, her best friend from college. Bellamy is having a hard time repressing his romantic feelings for her.

“You had a daughter, Clarke. Smartest kid I’ve ever met,” and she doesn’t question his use of you instead of we because the last time he talked about his dreams, he flew to a space station while Clarke was about to die in the apocalypse. And Octavia was ten feet under the ground in a bunker created by a cult leader.
