In this AU, slavery is a normal thing. Mainly, slaves are used as palace servants and bed slaves. Slaves are supposed to be trained and bred to be unconditionally obedient, and the best slaves are treated like prized possessions.
So when Wei Wuxian woke one morning to find his adoptive brother Wen Chao’s personal soldiers in his rooms, shoving him to the floor and clasping a slave collar on his neck, he was more than a LITTLE surprised.
Or, Wei Wuxian is sold as a bed slave to the Lans as part of the peace treaty gift from the Wens.
