“Right,” speaks Jayce, dumbly. His tongue is tangled in his mouth for a brief moment. He can’t stop staring as his father guides Viktor in the direction of the entryway.
And when Jayce is within breathing distance of him, lips parted, he can practically taste the enticing scent that wafts from him. It coats his tongue, thick and heady, sweet and refreshing. Jayce hisses through his teeth, snapping them shut with an audible click, blinking as he feels his pupils dilate at the intoxicating fragrance alone, like a perfume made just for him.

Most of the University of Piltover's student body has vacated, making a glittering ghost town out of the campus and its surrounding blocks. Many are summering with their parents in mountain chateaus or on foreign shores. The ones that remain are arranging day trips, devouring hungover brunches, or still in bed. Certainly, they're not spending their Sunday morning in the sterile, fluorescent-lit halls of the physics building. Still, their well of impending tasks runneth over, so Viktor claimed responsibility for a handful of grant proposals. He's making decent progress, if he does say so himself.
There's a wet hiccup from the floor.
The real reason that Viktor is in the lab on a Sunday. He rolls his desk chair back far enough to examine the source.
Viktor sighs indulgently. "Really, Jayce. I thought we agreed that you were going to be patient."
Viktor gets to indulge in a long-held fantasy involving his and Jayce's shared desk.

Viktor had outdone himself. Jayce was set to deliver his sermon this afternoon, and Viktor had picked the perfect spot to drink up his words—in the pulpit, of course. Where else could he get so close to God? Besides, Jayce had been ignoring him for too long, and he was starving. His hunger only increased by the day now, it had been so long since he last fed on essence. If he did not feed soon, Viktor feared he would become… undignified with desperation.
Viktor folded himself into the shadows so Jayce wouldn’t be able to see him yet. He had to bite his lip when a heavy boot stepped into the pulpit. The things he wished to do with that boot. So many centuries and still, the smallest things gave him a thrill.
Jayce cleared his throat. Viktor’s eyes locked onto the bulge of Jayce’s crotch.
“Thank you all for being here this afternoon. Our community means so much to us…”

Surely they still had to wake for water, and the habits that came after. Not to mention that hibernating creatures would miss the holiday season, and the passing of the new year. How could Viktor even consider Sky’s warnings as something to follow?
“Oh, Viktor,” Sky, the otter vastaya, had said with a patronising pout. “You shouldn’t disturb Jayce’s hibernation. You know what they say about poking bears, right? If his rest was disturbed, imagine what he would do.”

Summary
Wolf knows that he can be that man. It’s why he keeps reading those books from her kingdom that tell him everything he needs to do.
Admittedly, some of it doesn’t make sense. Waiting two days after a date to beep her so he doesn’t seem controlling? Even if he knew what it meant to “beep” someone, the idea of going on an outing with Virginia and then not seeing her for two more sunrises is positively dreadful.
He knows enough about her and her kingdom that she would not consider rutting in the woods under the moonlight to be an adequate ending to a date. She’s much more sophisticated than that, would want to do it the human way. A chaste kiss and a goodbye. Maybe she’d even be so inclined to let him sleep outside her door, or on the foot of her bed to protect her whilst she slept.
After narrowly escaping from being burned alive, Wolf reflects on what kind of man (and wolf) he is and the happily ever after he wants with Virginia.

When Viktor makes outstanding plans he expects them to be kept.
He did not march twenty five of his best battle bots out onto the bridge of progress and into Piltover proper to be stood up.
And he certainly didn’t break into his old laboratory in the academy to be met with the business end of sheriff Caitlyn Kirraman’s rifle.
Viktor is above such things as emotional outbursts now, has been for years- the metallic brain grafts and emotional suppressors have seen to that- still he can admit, it’s not entirely logical to think the sheriff looks particularly stupid in her bespoke top hat.
But it is an incredibly stupid looking hat.

Hannibal watches him in amusement from afar, letting time linger. His legs are still crossed at the knee, hands clasped on his lap. He had become accustomed to all of Will’s personality quirks, but alas, this was his favorite. The playful one, that wanted to engage, that wanted to fight back.
