Filia felt nauseous as an odd fear bloomed in her stomach. Hesitant, she half-turned to look over her shoulder. Xellos was staring back at her with wide open eyes that were no longer reached by a smile.
She turned back to the kettle, though she could do nothing more than wait for the water inside it to boil.
"Where is this coming from?" she asked, retreating to the lighter tone of their previous conversation. But Xellos pressed on.

This appeared to be too much for the rational-minded Zelgadis, despite his desire to absolutely not be involved in this conversation. “That would have to be one big bug,” he muttered.
“It was,” Filia confirmed, trying to ignore a snickering Xellos as she straightened out her cloak to regain some dignity. “A huge pest,” she added pointedly.
