“We always have pancakes on Wednesdays,” Adora speaks firmly, bracing herself for the objection to come, “Routine’s important.”
Glimmer smiles softly, though it doesn’t reach her eyes. She moves over to Adora, a hand rubbing soft circles into her upper back. Adora pushes down the anger that bubbles illogically in her chest. It isn’t Glimmer’s fault that she’s here instead of Adora’s wife, or that Adora can hardly bear to be touched by anyone that isn’t Catra. Anyway, she’d appreciated the support from her best friends until today; in its own way, it had almost felt helpful before the unimaginable had happened.

Karolina is two years old when she gets taken.
It’s a normal day, up until that point. She’s not old enough to do much of anything on her own, and being the middle of three, her parents are more than a little overworked.
For that reason, Karolina’s mothers have taken to having her nap at the same time as her little brother, Sebastian. He’s even more of a kitten than Karolina is, only six months old, and they’re both happily napping away when the screams start and the first building falls.

Adora suffers a lapse of battlefield awareness following the Battle of Thaymor, and Catra is forced to pick up the slack.
This changes things.

At the battle of Thaymor, Catra takes a fatal blast protecting Adora. This results in her becoming the target of Adora’s first and very early attempt at She-ra powered healing.
Adora should be happy that they’ve gotten Catra out of the Horde, even if it took temporarily killing her to do so, but keeping a hold of her becomes a bit trickier now that She-ra gave Catra wings.
