Angel finds himself sick with a particularly virulent illness, exacerbated by Val overworking him. Husk tries to take care of him. Mired in desperation and vulnerability, walls are let down, and feelings ensue. Angel is still learning that having people who care about him means he doesn't always have to handle things himself, and that accepting help isn't a sign of weakness.
Takes place following the events of Season 1.

Summary
The road to recovery is long, and rocky, and exhausting. Nobody will tell Fenris otherwise, and he doesn't need them to, doesn't need their pity because he can handle it alone.
Yet, Hawke doesn't give pity. He only gives healing and, for that, Fenris will eternally be grateful. So, perhaps he doesn't need to handle it all alone. Perhaps Hawke is a part of this road, only he's the smooth parts, the parts where there are handholds along the cliffsides that save him from falling to his death.
Hawke is his lifeline, and according to Hawke, Fenris is his life.
Maybe they were made for one another...
Or, snippets between Fenris, Hawke, and Fenris' recovery from his jagged past.

Garrett Hawke never considered himself fragile, but in the wake of the Deep Roads expedition, he feels less than sure about so much. Did he make the right decisions? Does he show the people in his life how much they mean to him without reservation? Shouldn't such things come naturally?
One would think that knowing yourself and knowing what you want would be the easiest thing in the world. But then one would be wrong. As he comes to grips with himself, his magic, and the politics surrounding those things, Hawke can't help but look to the one constant at his side. An elf who normally distrusts and dislikes mages.
