Before he could react, the front of his shirt was being grabbed and he was pulled into an alley.

He's not quite expecting to run into Spock again in San Francisco. A second one night stand turns into a weekend, turns into a lot of weekends, turns into Bones joking that he's living half his week at Spock's apartment.
But! But, and this is very important: they're not dating.
What also turns out to be important is Spock's job, which Jim never bothered getting the details of. Starfleet Officer and a bartender-slash-bouncer? That's fine. Starfleet Academy Instructor and cadet? ...Less fine.

“Spock?” He asks. Nothing. Jim is about to snap the comm closed in frustration, when he hears a ragged inhale.
“You’re on a roof?” Spock’s voice is deadly soft, flat and hard and…something else that Jim’s brain won’t process. Jim rolls his eyes. He grabs another drink and wrestles it open, taking three large swigs before he bothers responding.

Miya coughs in a very obviously fake way. “Ah choo,” he says. Says. The onomatopoeia’s vowels are exaggerated in his accent. “Oh, look, Omi-kun, I have the Andalurian flu. Seems nasty. Hear it’s lethal without proper medical treatment.”
Kiyoomi can see that Security is probably having a very, very slow day and unleashing Miya on anyone else would lead to uncontrollably chaotic outcomes. He sighs and decides to take one for the team. “Fine. I’ll go over your theory with you once I’ve taken care of everyone here. Come back later.”
