Summary
Miguel had regrets, many of which he could not rectify. When he awoke in debilitating pain with the knowledge that his coworker had tried and failed to kill him, he swore to be smarter. When his entire life cried out for him as she decayed where he cradled her in his arms, he swore to be stronger. When he gritted his teeth and lowered his head from the display where a silhouette of the young Spider-Man stood victorious in the wake of his own ignorance, he swore to be better.
It was a universal constant that even when he tried to do what was right, he would end up breaking every promise that he had ever made.
(AKA: Miles gets a sorely needed apology, and Miguel does some self-work.)

Miguel is too far gone.
“Mi-Miguel, please, please, I can't—you have to listen to me. This i-isn't you- I can tell this isn’t you, please—" Miles cries, choking on his tears.
Miguel snarls at him, unsheathed fangs dripping with venom. He removes one hand from Mile’s wrist, only to move it to his neck. His talon pricks the skin, small beads of blood trickling down from each contact point.
The boy lets out a scream, his body writhing under Miguel’s grasp as he sobs.
Miguel only squeezes harder.
The man’s gaze moves from where his own wrist stifles Miles up to the kid’s face.
He looks half dead, covered in a mixture of dried and fresh blood, patches of hair matted by the gore.
His gaze makes its way up to Miles’ eyes. He looks horrified, eyes wide with terror and glossy with fear. Miguel presses his talons in deeper. He wants—needs—to see the life drain from his face, watch the light fade from his eyes.

Summary
Izuku wasn’t moving to help or hinder his mentor as Toshinori pulled them both back up from the depths. Izuku wasn’t moving at all. The former hero breached into the air with a gasp and a hacking cough as the rain pounded him from above and the waves threatened to push him back under. He dragged the limp form of his student up beside him, righting the boy so his head came above water. He pulled Izuku’s back to his own bony chest, pressed one large hand to the boy’s ribs and waited to feel what he couldn’t possibly hear over the raging of the sea and the storm.
“Breathe, my boy,” he yelled over the cacophony around them.
Izuku didn’t.
--The three day celebrity hero cruise was proposed as a good way to mingle with the press and the public. A morale booster for a world still recovering from war. A terrorist attack and a surprise storm sinking that cruise liner wasn’t on the agenda. He may not have a quirk anymore, but Toshinori still isn’t about to let his successor drown in the wreckage.

Summary
A new weapon had joined Judy's arsenal: a half-cracked carrot pen storing a recording that said "Love ya, partner."
She didn’t waste a second to use it to tease Nick. One could argue there was a certain pettiness behind the light-hearted ribbing, or that it wasn’t a bright idea to flaunt the recorder around him, given what happened when he had used it to pester her during the Honeymoon Lodge climb. But who could blame her? It wasn’t often she had a chance to leave Nick stuttering or even speechless, and the pen in her belt was her golden ticket.
What she could have never predicted was how her attempts to tease Nick would backfire on her, as she constantly found herself eager to listen to the recording just one more time.

"I worked so hard to get here, All Might. Sometimes, I thought I would give up. And sometimes, I thought you would give up on me. But here we are."
Toshinori finds out that Izuku's absent father has passed away; this stirs up complicated feelings for them both. After trying to give the boy some time and space (and struggling), Toshinori pays a visit to the Midoriya household to pay his respects, and leaves with a greater understanding of the role he plays in Izuku's life, and his feelings towards his young student.

Wrapping his own arms around himself as he trembles in the storm of his despair is as close as he’ll be able to get to comfort right now. “It hurts, it hurts.”
He doesn’t want to have to do this alone. He’s so tired of having to push through pain alone. It’s something he’s been doing all his life, but can’t he, just once, have someone to hold him up when he stumbles?
