“Rumi,” Zoey’s voice is impossibly soft, “why wouldn’t I tell you that you’re good?”
Rumi shrugs, feeling raw and exposed in the way she always does after kneeling for them.
She considers the question: she just wasn’t brought up that way. There was never any need for praise or affirmation as a form of encouragement. Not when there were other forms so readily available – imminent choking forms, creeping steadily across her body.

A sweet smile contrasts the way Rumi’s jaw clenches and her brow creases. Her eyes search Mira’s own, flickering with uncertainty. Pattern-covered arms lifted from the bed to loosely wrap around Mira’s neck, and for a moment, the taller woman stared at Rumi in disbelief. Is she going to try hiding how she feels? Mira could already feel herself opening her mouth, a well meaning scolding forming on her tongue, only to be interrupted when Rumi herself spoke instead.

"I'm screwed," she mumbles to herself.

Mira didn’t even know what she was waiting for. She told Zoey that they should wait, but wait for what, exactly?
The thought of just coming up to Rumi and going, “Hey, we find your patterns sexy, wanna take off your clothes so we can admire it and maybe have a threesome?” was becoming more and more appealing by the day.
But that wasn’t romantic, and it definitely wasn’t something that Mira would consider saying out loud at the risk of embarrassing herself in case Rumi found it weird.

I have no clue how this works btw"Stuff to do." It's a shit veil for the fact that Jinx didn't want to stay and wait. Caitlyn and Jinx could get along occasionally, but without Vi it felt weird. Especially after Caitlyn broke up with Vi.
Or
Caitlyn was about to throw a Christmas party when a massive storm hits, and Jinx and Isha are the only ones already there.
Takes place in between after s2 and a happy ending. Caitlyn lost her eye, Jinx lost her hair. But Viktor never did the weird world ending thing. And obviously Isha is alive.
