When he is last ended up in his investigation as a Young Enchanter and a Mage Detective in Ostwick Circle, with his rogue specialty in intelligence and sleuth, he is now helping the mages at last at a Conclave while his beloved brother Maxwell investigated with his group of Templars at Therinfal Redoubt. And then when trouble begins, Eden murmured to himself, “Shit, I shouldn’t have gone there…”

He meets a mysterious being who claims to have made the Jenova mistake. Sephiroth is too entranced to immediately ask questions until after they are mentally bound.

(In which Cloud accidently causes Jenova when he arrived on Gaia, kills her after nearly decimating an entire race, goes to sleep, only to be partially awoken by a heartbroken and lonely Sephiroth. Oh and Cloud is a potential God? Just not one that is recognized to be a diety within Gaia. But Sephiroth latches onto him instead of Jenova.)
